Kenan Institute Executive Director Mark Little Named to Advisory Board

Mark Little, executive director of the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute for Private Enterprise, was named to the North Carolina Policy Collaboratory Advisory Board on Feb. 7. Little brings to the board an international background in environmental and earth science, policy analysis and renewable energy.

In addition to his leadership role at the Kenan Institute, Little is director of NCGrowth, an innovative program funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration that seeks to transform North Carolina’s rural and under-served communities.

Members of the Collaboratory Advisory Board are appointed at the discretion of the UNC-Chapel Hill Provost to serve the University in an advisory role. Advisory Board members provide guidance and promote the priorities of the Collaboratory in its mission and ensure research rigor and compliance with the best principles of scientific inquiry.

Other Members of the Collaboratory Advisory Board include:

  • Al Segars, Chair, PNC Distinguished Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Faculty Director of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise, Kenan-Flagler Business School
  • Anita Brown Graham, Professor of Public Law and Government, School of Government
  • Jaye Cable, Professor, Department of Marine Sciences and Chair, Curriculum for the Environment and Ecology
  • Greg Characklis, Phillip C. Singer Distinguished Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering and Director of the UNC Center for Watershed Science and Management
  • Jeff Hughes, Lecturer and Director, Environmental Finance Center, School of Government
  • Reggie Holley, Principal, the Longmire Group and Chair, UNC Institute for the Environment Board of Visitors
  • Rick Luettich, Professor and Director, UNC Institute of Marine Sciences
  • Brad Ives, Ex-Officio Member, Chief Sustainability Officer and Collaboratory Director
The North Carolina Policy Collaboratory was established by the state legislature to utilize and disseminate the environmental research expertise of the University of North Carolina for practical use by state and local government.
