Larry researches how weak institutions in developing countries pose challenges for new business formation.

As a member of the Lumbee tribe and a North Carolina native, Larry has a strong academic and personal interest in issues facing his home state, including minority entrepreneurship and rural economic development.

Larry received his doctorate degree in economics from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master of Science in Applied Economics and Management, a master’s degree in Asian studies from Cornell University, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Duke University.
