Background

I was born in Spartanburg, SC and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL when I was 10 years old. We returned to Spartanburg when I was 16. In 2005 I received my BA in English from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. After graduation I worked as an investment banking analyst for Wachovia Capital Markets in Charlotte, NC. At the completion of the analyst program, I joined a real estate private equity group, Black Creek Capital, in Denver, CO and Mexico City. For the past three years, I lived in Spartanburg and worked for a development and real estate company. Both of my parents live in Spartanburg although my mother still likes to emphasize her North Carolina roots and is a committed Tar Heel. My sister lives in New York, NY.

Career Path

To date, my career focus has been on finance and real estate, and I am excited to be involved in Kenan-Flagler’s real estate program. However, my plan is to explore a career in the investment management industry and utilize our unique resources like the Capital Markets Lab. Investing has always been an interest of mine. In addition, I am passionate about improving the quality of education in the United States. A long-term goal is to make a lasting impact by giving young people the skills they will need to succeed in the 21st century.

Interests and Hobbies

As an avid outdoorsman, I enjoy downhill and telemark skiing, hiking, cycling, golf, and waterfowling. Most of all, I love being with my family and we often travel together to discover new places and cultures.
