David Autor, Ford Professor of Economics at MIT and a 2024 Kenan Institute Distinguished Fellow, “is best known for his in-depth studies showing how much technology and trade have eroded the incomes of millions of American workers,” The New York Times writes. Autor has a much sunnier take on artificial intelligence, however, seeing potential benefits for the U.S. middle class.

Autor is part of the class of Distinguished Fellows exploring the topic of Business Resilience: Navigating Global Uncertainty and Managing Risk, the 2024 Kenan Institute Grand Challenge.
