Background

As the second oldest of nine children, I always felt it was important to be a part of something larger than myself. I recognized Army ROTC at Wake Forest University as an opportunity to join one of the greatest teams in the world. After graduating college, I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where I served four years as a Human Resources Officer in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

Career Path

As the Human Resources Officer in an organization that continually deploys hundreds of soldiers across ten countries in the Pacific Region, I discovered my passion for managing human capital and building organizations. It is much more than putting the right person in the right position. I realized the value of leveraging the Army’s greatest asset: our people. I am pursuing my Master of Business Administration to further develop my passion of shaping organizations through expertly crafted human dynamics. I believe business has the power to drive change, but behind that change is always people—people making decisions and questioning the status quo. I am pursuing a career in Finance with a long-term goal of being able to use my experience in managing Human Capital and Finance to invest in small businesses. I currently work as the VP of Marketing for a Durham based startup, Babykixx.

Interests and Hobbies

I remain active in the Kenan-Flagler Veteran’s Association, Carolina Women in Business and VC Angels. I also serve as a Service to School Ambassador and am a Pat Tillman Scholar. In my free time I play tennis, run, and spend time with family.
