Market-Based Solutions to Vital Economic Issues

Background

I grew up in Aba, Nigeria and moved to the United States for college when I was awarded a full academic scholarship at Benedict College. I moved to Columbia, South Carolina and was a dual major in economics and finance and was president of the Economics Awareness Club.

Career Path

I’ve spent most of my career with BB&T Corporation. I started with the Leadership Development Program and subsequently worked in credit analysis, syndicated debt finance and, most recently, as an assistant vice president within the capital markets division. These roles allowed me to develop a strong foundation of financial analysis and gave me experience in creating pitches, modeling and credit underwriting. My intention is to continue a career in finance and to make a positive impact in emerging markets and around the globe.

Interests and Hobbies

The Kenan Scholars Inclusive Entrepreneurship Centers project presents an opportunity for me to work in a very exciting field and explore best practices in making businesses more successful. In my free time I travel to new destinations, watch European soccer, follow global economic and market trends, and read.
