Gerald Cohen discussed Empowering American Cities, the Kenan Institute’s collaboration with Fifth Third Bank, in a question-and-answer session featured on UNC.edu.
The project, powered by the institute’s American Growth Project, can answer questions such as why the Triangle is one of the fastest-growing economies in the country.
“We’re providing models that allow us to understand current conditions and predict future conditions by incorporating different statistics into a broader measure of economic activity,” Cohen said.
“We’re aiming to understand the drivers of that growth.”
