This summer we’ve witnessed unprecedented levels of social unrest and corporate responses. In the days of months following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, many companies released statements or ads against racism and police brutality. Corporate responses range from making financial commitments to rebranding to changing hiring and promotion practices. Some of these actions have been welcomed, others have been criticized for appearing hypocritical or opportunistic.
Each year Kenan Scholars focuses on a different theme related to business and the public good. The focus of this year’s workshops, research and other events and activities is Racism and Discrimination in Business and the Economy.
Join Kenan Scholars for an interactive discussion of how companies can meaningfully address racism and other forms of discrimination. This event will also provide attendees the opportunity to learn more about the Kenan Scholars program and to get involved with some of our activities.
