On Wednesday, April 4, the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School will present a lecture by private equity guru and philanthropist Steve Schwarzman. Schwarzman is the chairman, CEO and co-founder of Blackstone, a leading global asset manager with $371 billion assets under management. He is also an active philanthropist with a history of supporting education and schools. This past February, he donated $25 million to his alma mater, Abington High School in Pennsylvania.
In 2007, Schwarzman was named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People,” and in 2016, he topped Forbes magazine’s list of the most influential people in finance.
The Kenan-Flagler Business School Dean’s Speaker Series brings prominent speakers to campus during the academic year. The event is free and open to the public.
