CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (April 4, 2023) – As we await the latest employment report, last month’s collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank remains a hot topic in the business world. Will those failures lead to a financial contagion? What other economic fallout might we see?
To find out, join us for the Kenan Institute’s monthly virtual press briefing at 9 a.m. EDT this Friday, April 7, as we provide instant analysis following the release of the jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Institute Chief Economist Gerald Cohen will offer his insights on both the labor market and the questions surrounding the bank failures as well as answer questions from the audience.
Experts from the institute will appear on the briefing each month and offer commentary in their areas of specialization. The briefings occur on the morning that the employment report is released, usually the first Friday of each month.
