Allen Chan brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to the Kenan Institute Board of Advisors. He is currently Managing Director at Diversified Search Group (DSG) working primarily in the Board practice. Allen joined DSG after serving as the executive director of the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program (2012-2020). Under Allen’s leadership, the program became one of the country’s preeminent undergraduate leadership programs. He has worked in a range of entrepreneurial, educational, corporate, and consulting organizations including Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he conducted and led studies for large corporations in strategy, operations, and business process re-design.
In addition to his work in the Board practice, Allen provides leadership advisory services – such as Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Assessment and Strategy, CEO/Board Alignment, and Board Effectiveness and Governance.
Allen is very committed and involved in the community. He currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, Morehouse College and Atlanta Life Insurance Company. He has previously served on the boards of several other Atlanta-based organizations, including the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, Families First and Imagine It! Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Allen received an MBA from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in Engineering from Texas A&M. He currently lives in Chapel Hill, N.C. with his wife, Kathryn
