Market-Based Solutions to Vital Economic Issues

Background

I was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA, with substantial family roots in Raleigh, NC. I attended the University of Mary Washington where I played on the varsity tennis team while earning a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. After graduation, I ventured up to the Northeast where I worked for an investment management firm, The Vanguard Group, located outside of Philadelphia. With my immediate family moving back to Raleigh, I too felt my calling to get back to my southern roots and spend the next two years realizing a lifelong dream: attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and becoming a Tar Heel through and through.

Career Path

Upon graduation from the University of Mary Washington, I joined The Vanguard Group, starting in their Accelerated Development Program. After spending time rotating through various departments and gaining a holistic viewpoint on the intricacies and moving parts of a multi-faceted global company, I graduated from the development program and became an internal strategy consultant. Within this role, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with senior leaders to help ideate, plan, and implement the company’s largest strategic initiatives. Although I enjoyed the work, culture, and mission portrayed by those at Vanguard, I came to UNC Kenan-Flagler to expand upon my marketing and leadership skills to complement the foundational skills I built as a strategy consultant and project manager.

Interests and Hobbies

Growing up, and to this day, I like to spend my free time playing (all) sports, visiting friends and family, and exploring new cuisines and restaurants. Additionally, growing up as the son of two UNC graduates, I enjoy cheering on the Tar Heels at different athletic events. Lastly, as an avid sports and basketball fan, I enjoy watching the evolution of players as they transition from college to professional ranks and researching the impact sports has on our society.
