Carolyn Fryberger is the Program Coordinator for the NCGrowth initiative. Carolyn received her Master’s in City and Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill in 2014 with a specialization in Economic Development.
Her interest in economic development grew out of work promoting community health and wellness and seeing that time and time again good health outcomes were dependent on access to quality jobs. As a graduate student at UNC she was involved in a wide variety of projects including research on the opportunities and impacts of swine waste to energy systems in eastern North Carolina, research on entrepreneurship in the Research Triangle region, economic impact analysis with IMPLAN, and assisting local governments with downtown revitalization.
