Background

I received my B.A. from Davidson College where I majored in Economics. After graduation I spent one year teaching high school math and coaching field hockey in Winston-Salem before joining an investment advisory firm, Sterling Capital Management, in Charlotte. As an analyst within the client services/marketing group, I assisted portfolio managers and our sales team with communicating portfolio results and investment advice to clients. After two years I left to join Hewitt Associates, where I consulted Fortune 500 clients on their health care benefits and programs prior to coming to business school.

Career Pursuits

I came to Kenan-Flagler to equip myself to become an impactful agent for change in the world through business. As a Kenan Institute liaison I plan to further explore the role of private enterprise in fostering economic development as well as how to further bridge the gap between the developed and developing world. After graduating from Kenan-Flagler, I intend to pursue a career in investment management, while exploring socially responsible investing. I will continue to pursue my personal interest in microfinance and its place in both investment portfolios as well as in international development. This summer I will be interning with J.P. Morgan within their Private Banking group.

Interest and Hobbies

I enjoy playing and watching sports, including basketball, field hockey, tennis and running. I love to travel and have spent time in Africa and Europe, in addition to studying abroad in Australia. I am learning French and have a particular interest in the Africa region.
