Dean’s Speaker Series: Eli Gross

Join us for “Investment Banking’s Environment Today and the Path Forward,” a dynamic fireside chat with Eli Gross, managing director and global head of investment banking at Morgan Stanley, moderated by Wells Fargo Distinguished Professor of Finance Anil Shivdasani.

The talk is offered through the Dean’s Speaker Series, hosted by the Kenan Institute in partnership with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

The hourlong event will take place at 1 PM EST Friday, March 7, in the Wilson Library Pleasants Family Assembly Room, with lunch provided.

Gross will explore the trends shaping the global economy and the investment banking industry, including M&A and private and public capital markets. This conversation offers a unique opportunity to learn from a leading expert about the strategies, challenges and opportunities defining the future of finance.

Gross is a managing director at Morgan Stanley and has been global head of investment banking since 2022. He serves on the firm’s management committee, Institutional Securities Group operating committee and risk committee, and was previously the global head of transportation, logistics and infrastructure investment banking.

He joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 as an associate in mergers and acquisitions and served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility within the department. He then joined the Transportation, Logistics and Infrastructure Investment Banking Group in 2001 and was named global head in 2012.

Gross received his MBA and bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must preregister.
