CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2022) – Is the Fed’s aggressive policy working to take the froth off the labor market? Join us for the Kenan Institute’s virtual press briefing at 9 a.m. EDT this Friday, Nov. 4, as we discuss the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ fresh employment report and what it means for the U.S. economy.
The Federal Reserve has been rolling out interest rate increases since March, with another big jump expected Wednesday. For the Fed to eventually ease its approach, the booming labor market and high inflation will need to moderate. UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School Finance Professor Christian Lundblad will analyze Friday’s jobs report and answer questions from the audience.
Various experts from the institute will appear in the coming months and offer insights from their areas of specialization. The briefings will occur on the morning that the employment report is released, usually the first Friday of each month.
