CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Sept. 5, 2023) – Headline inflation is subject to the whims of volatile food and energy prices, and with gasoline prices on the rise, the inflation numbers are going to look less favorable.

How should the Federal Reserve handle this, and what does it mean for the economy? Join us for the Kenan Institute’s monthly virtual press briefing at 9 a.m. EDT this Friday, Sept. 8, as Chief Economist Gerald Cohen addresses these issues and takes questions from the audience.

Experts from the institute will appear on the briefing each month and offer commentary in their areas of specialization. Briefings occur on the morning that the employment report is released, usually the first Friday of each month. (Last week’s briefing was postponed in light of the tragedy on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.)

You are invited to join via Zoom (registration details below) and welcome to submit any questions you would like to be addressed to external affairs associate Rob Knapp.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
