CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Jan. 2, 2024) – The markets and many economic pundits seem to be counting on a soft landing as the economy slows but doesn’t stall and inflation glides toward the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.

Kenan Institute Chief Economist Gerald Cohen will discuss how Friday’s employment report and other recent data fit into that scenario, the effects of other potential economic outcomes, and recommendations on economic trends to look for in 2024 during the institute’s monthly virtual briefing at 9 a.m. EST this Friday, Jan. 5.

Experts from the institute will appear on the briefing each month and offer commentary in their areas of specialization. Briefings occur on the morning that the employment report is released, usually the first Friday of each month.

You’re invited to join via Zoom (registration details below) and welcome to submit any questions you would like to be addressed to External Affairs Associate Rob Knapp.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
