In spite of decades of discussion, though, the issue still ignites debate and raises such questions as “How do you put a cash value on enslavement?” and “Who should be eligible to receive compensation?” In this video, economist William A. “Sandy” Darity Jr., Samuel BuBois Cook Professor of Public Policy at Duke University, discusses the history of racial inequality in the U.S. and outlines a plan for instituting reparations to the descendants of slaves.
