Over the last two to three years, there has been a souring of the bilateral political relationship between the U.S. and China. Many U.S. firms are re-thinking their presence in the Chinese economy; a significant number are considering moving their operations out of China. According to AmCham China’s latest business survey, for the first time in a long while, many American firms are pessimistic about business opportunities across the Chinese economy. At the same time, in 2022, Sino-US trade reached an historic high in terms of both imports and exports. What is really happening with regard to the thinking of U.S. corporate leaders? Professor Denis Simon, who recently joined the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School faculty, will provide expert commentary about the ups and downs of business and technology relations between the two countries. A Zoom link will be provided to registrants and lunch will be provided to those who attend in-person.
