Kenan Institute Monthly Economic Briefings

Join us as Kenan Institute experts analyze the latest employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and discuss top-of-mind business topics during our monthly economic briefing.

The 30-minute briefings are generally held at 9 AM ET the first Friday of each month, after the release of the new jobs report, and take place via Zoom.

In addition to the labor market, recent topics have included inflation and the Federal Reserve’s strategy for adjusting interest rates, changes in consumer sentiment, and the effects of policy uncertainty on the US economy. Each briefing includes time to answer questions from attendees.

Experts presenting during the briefing include these UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School professors:

  • Gerald Cohen, Kenan Institute chief economist
  • Greg Brown, Kenan Institute research fellow and former executive director
  • Camelia Kuhnen, Kenan Institute research director
  • Christian Lundblad, Kenan Institute research fellow and former research director

Invitations are sent out the week of the event. If you would like to receive invitations to future briefings or have questions, please email Kenan Institute External Affairs Assistant Director Rob Knapp at rob_knapp@kenan-flagler.unc.edu.
