On Thursday, January 28, Kenan Scholars from the classes of 2019 and 2020 came together to share updates with the current classes of Kenan Scholars on life post-graduation and offer advice on getting through everything from research to job hunting in these uncharted times.
On April 26, current Kenan scholars and former leadership fellows came together to present ongoing research projects and recognize past participants. The event also coincided with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School's centennial celebration.

Speed networking is networking with a twist. It’s a quick and entertaining way for scholars and mentors to meet. This year’s Board of Mentors members include local political leaders, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School professors and business owners and professionals.

On Jan. 18, members of the Kenan Scholars program met up on a sunny afternoon to assist in building senior housing with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. In support of affordable housing, scholars suited up in gloves and goggles to prep and install windows and shower stalls.
Fifteen students from Kenan-Flagler Business School have been selected as members of the third class of undergraduate Kenan Scholars. The two-and-half-year program, sponsored by the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, brings together business school majors and minors who have exhibited outstanding leadership on campus and in the community.
On Sunday, March 31, 2019, five other Kenan Scholars and I took part in a high ropes course event at the UNC Outdoor Recreation Center. Not only was the physical experience an event in itself, but so was the pre-event planning process. It ended up being much harder than I expected and taught me several lessons.
On April 4, the Kenan Institute celebrated the achievements of the first graduating class of Kenan Scholars. The 2019 graduates witnessed the birth of the Kenan Scholars program and have played an instrumental role in its development.
The Kenan Scholars program gathered virtually on Thursday, May 7 to honor its graduating seniors during the Senior Sendoff. This event provided the Kenan Scholars Class of 2020 the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, acknowledge fellow scholars and Kenan Institute staff who have made a positive impact, and be congratulated by students, faculty and staff for their achievements.
After spending the summer completing internships in the public sector and conducting research on COVID-19’s impact in local communities, Kenan Scholars shared their experiences with fellow students, UNC faculty/staff and business professionals at the Kenan Scholars Public Sector Showcase on Sept. 25, 2020.
