CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Employment growth has remained exceptionally strong this year, and September is expected to be another healthy month. Join us for the Kenan Institute’s virtual press briefing at 9 a.m. EDT this Friday, Oct. 7, as we discuss the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ fresh employment report and how it may affect the Federal Reserve’s aggressive reaction to inflation.
Will this employment report show cracks in the economic foundation that give the Fed pause? Are the U.S. equity markets, which have swooned as the prospects of a Fed-induced hard landing have increased, souring confidence and thus the economy? Join Chief Economist Gerald Cohen for a real-time update, followed by his answers to questions from the audience.
Various experts from the institute will appear in the coming months and offer insights from their areas of specialization. The briefings will occur on the morning that the employment report is released, usually the first Friday of each month.
You’re invited to join via Zoom (registration details below) and welcome to submit any questions you would like to be addressed.
